You do not have to run every part of your Tambala business by yourself.

Teammates let you give other people their own access to help with the work. This could be someone who processes orders, manages products, handles bookings, runs events, checks attendees in, responds to customers or helps manage the business day to day.

Each teammate uses their own account. You decide what they are allowed to do.

This is safer than sharing your own login details and makes it easier to understand who did what.

Before you add someone

Think about the work you actually want the person to do.

Someone packing and processing orders does not need access to your payments. Someone scanning tickets at an event does not need permission to edit your products.

Start with the person's job, then give them the access required for that job.

You can always change their permissions later.

Add a teammate

From your seller dashboard, open Teammates and choose Add Teammate.

Enter the person's name and the sign-in information requested by Tambala. Depending on the options available, this may be their phone number or email address.

Use information that belongs to that person and that they can access reliably.

Then choose the permissions they need.

Once everything is ready, create the teammate account.

Give them their login details safely

After the account is created, Tambala may provide the information the teammate needs for their first sign-in.

Share this privately.

Do not post passwords in a public WhatsApp group, staff noticeboard or any place where other people can see them.

Tell the teammate to use their own account whenever they are working in Tambala.

They should not use your owner account, and two teammates should not normally share one teammate account.

Individual accounts make the business easier to manage and protect.

What the teammate will see

When a teammate signs in, their dashboard should reflect the access you gave them.

Someone who only handles orders should not need to see tools for managing payouts or changing important business settings.

Someone who works at the gate may only need the event check-in tools for the events they have been assigned.

This keeps the dashboard simpler for the teammate and reduces the chance of someone changing something outside their responsibility.

Change a teammate's access

People's responsibilities change.

Someone who started by processing orders may later help manage products. An event manager may only need access during a particular season. A temporary staff member may no longer need access once the work is finished.

Open Teammates, choose the person and update their permissions.

Do not keep giving people more access simply because they have worked with you for a long time.

Their access should continue to match the work they currently do.

If a teammate forgets their password

Use the password reset option available from the teammate's account.

Once new login information is created, share it privately with the teammate.

If you suspect that someone else may know the old password, reset it even if the teammate can still log in.

Password resets are not only for forgotten passwords. They are also useful when access may have been shared or exposed.

Disable access when you need to stop it temporarily

Sometimes you need to stop someone's access without removing the account completely.

A teammate may be going on leave. Their responsibilities may be changing. You may also need time to investigate something that happened in the account.

In these situations, disable the teammate.

Disabling stops them from using the account while keeping their account history and information available.

If they return and should regain access, you can enable them again.

Remove someone who has left the business

When a person permanently leaves your business, review their Tambala access as part of their departure.

Do not leave old staff accounts active simply because nobody is using them.

Depending on the options Tambala provides, you may remove the teammate or permanently delete their access.

Before doing so, make sure any work or responsibility they were handling has been transferred to someone else.

If you may still need their account history, consider whether disabling the account is more appropriate than immediately deleting it.

Review your teammates from time to time

Your team will change as the business grows.

Occasionally open the Teammates section and ask:

Does this person still work with us?

Do they still need this access?

Do they have permissions that no longer match their job?

Is anyone using someone else's account?

Small access problems are much easier to fix before they become security or operational problems.

Do not share the owner account

Your owner account has the highest level of control over the business.

Keep it for yourself.

Even a highly trusted employee or manager should normally have their own teammate account with the access they need.

This means that if they leave, change roles or make a mistake, you can change their access without changing control of the entire business.

The important thing to remember

Teammates are there to help you share the work without giving away control of the business.

Give each person their own account.

Give them access based on their job.

Change that access when their responsibilities change.

Remove it when they no longer need it.

That gives your team room to work while keeping you in control.
