A good guest experience starts before the guest arrives and ends only after they leave.

Check-in should make the guest feel expected and comfortable. Check-out should be simple, clear and free from unnecessary surprises.

Before the guest arrives

Start by checking that the booking details and the payment status. Then prepare the property. On Tambala Market, you will only only get notifications for paid bookings.

Make sure the room or property is clean, the bed linen and towels are ready, and the basic facilities are working. Check things such as water, lights, Wi-Fi, fans or air conditioning where provided.

If the guest will need keys, access codes, gate instructions or a Wi-Fi password, have these ready before they arrive.

It is also helpful to message the guest before check-in with the information they need.

This may include:

The address or directions.
The expected check-in time.
How they will enter the property.
A contact number.
Anything important they should know before arriving.

Do not make the message longer than it needs to be. The goal is to remove uncertainty. On Tambala Market, they get in their booking all the information including location, checkin and out times, etc.

Check the guest in

When the guest arrives, greet them and confirm the booking.

Check the guest name and any booking details you need, then show them the room or property.

Explain only the things that matter for the stay, such as how to access Wi-Fi, where important facilities are, how keys or gates work and what time check-out is.

If there are important house rules, explain them clearly and politely.

Then give the guest the keys, access code or other entry information they need.

Once the guest has arrived successfully, update the booking status in Tambala using Mark as Checked In where that option is available.

If the guest will arrive late

Guests may sometimes be delayed.

If they contact you, agree on what will happen next. You may wait for them, arrange for another trusted person to receive them, or use a safe self-check-in method if your property supports one.

If you have not heard from the guest and they are late, try to contact them before assuming they will not arrive.

Clear communication is usually enough to solve the situation.

During the stay

Make sure the guest knows how to reach you if something goes wrong.

Respond to reasonable questions or problems, but also respect the guest's privacy.

Do not enter a guest's room or private space without permission unless there is a genuine emergency or another reason allowed under your property rules.

Where possible, keep important booking communication through the approved Tambala channel so there is a clear record if a problem later needs support.

Prepare for check-out

Before the expected check-out time, remind the guest if necessary.

A simple message is enough:

Good morning. Just a reminder that check-out is at 10:00 a.m. Please let us know if you need any help before you leave.

Arrange how keys, remotes or other access items will be returned.

The guest should not have to guess what to do when leaving.

Check the guest out

When the guest leaves, collect any keys or access items and check the property.

You are mainly looking for anything that needs attention before the next guest arrives.

Normal use will leave some cleaning to do. That is expected.

If there is unusual damage or something important is missing, record it clearly. Take photographs where useful and keep any relevant communication.

Do not turn a small issue into a confrontation at the door.

If there is a serious problem, follow the appropriate Tambala support or dispute process.

Once the stay has ended, update the booking using Mark as Checked Out where available.

If there is damage

Stay calm and separate normal wear from genuine damage.

If something has clearly been damaged, document what happened as soon as possible.

Take clear photographs, keep relevant messages and report the issue through Tambala if support is required.

Do not hold the guest's belongings or create your own penalty outside the agreed booking and dispute process.

If the guest does not arrive

If the guest has not arrived by the expected time, try to contact them.

Do not mark the guest as checked in if they never arrived.

If they remain unreachable, follow the current Tambala no-show process and the cancellation terms connected to the booking.

If the guest wants to stay longer

If the guest asks to extend their stay, first check whether the property is available.

Do not agree to an extension that conflicts with another confirmed booking.

Where an extension is possible, follow the approved Tambala booking process so the additional nights and payment are properly recorded.

After the guest leaves

Prepare the room or property for the next stay and deal with any issue that came up during the booking.

It can also be useful to note anything that should be improved.

Did guests struggle to find the property? Were the check-in instructions unclear? Did they keep asking for the Wi-Fi password?

Small repeated questions often show where the guest experience can become simpler.
