Booking statuses

What it means and what you should do;

Confirmed: The required booking payment has been confirmed and the reservation is active. Prepare the property and send the guest any important arrival information.

Checked In: The guest has arrived and the stay has started. Support the guest during the stay and respond to any issues.

Checked Out: The guest has left and the stay has ended. Check the property, record any serious issue and wait for the booking to complete.

Completed: The stay has finished and Tambala has completed the booking process. Check your earnings and payout information.

Cancelled: The booking was cancelled before completion. Check the cancellation details and any refund or payment information connected to the booking.

The normal booking journey is:

Checkout Pending → Confirmed → Checked In → Checked Out → Completed

A booking may move to Cancelled if the guest or host cancels before the stay is completed.

Payment statuses

You may also see a separate payment status.

Paid: The payment has been confirmed. Continue with the booking according to its current stage.

Failed: The payment was not completed successfully. Wait for the guest to retry or follow the payment instructions shown in Tambala.

Refunded: The payment has been returned to the guest. Check the booking and refund details if you need to understand why.

Booking status and payment status are different

The booking status tells you where the guest is in the stay.

The payment status tells you what is happening with the money.

For example, a booking may show Confirmed because the required booking payment has been received, while another amount may still be due later depending on the payment terms of that reservation.

Always open the booking itself to see the latest information.

Why the status matters

Keeping booking statuses correct helps you, the guest and Tambala understand what has happened.

When the guest arrives, mark the booking as Checked In where that option is available.

When the guest leaves, mark it as Checked Out.

Do not move a booking forward simply to make the dashboard look complete. The status should reflect what has actually happened.

If a status looks wrong

If a booking stays in Checkout Pending, the required payment may not have been completed.

If a booking is Confirmed and the guest wants to cancel, follow the cancellation process and the policy attached to that reservation.

If a stay has been completed but your earnings or payout do not look right, check Stay Payouts and Reviews.

If the status clearly does not match what happened and you cannot correct it yourself, contact Tambala support.
