What you can sell

You can use Tambala Market to sell:

Products (for example: phones, laptops, electronics, clothes, shoes, fashion items, home appliances, beauty products, and more).
Event tickets (for example: shows, conferences, church events, parties, workshops, sports events, and festivals).
Places to stay (for example: hotels, guest houses, lodges, apartments, Airbnb-style stays, and short-term rentals).

The steps are mostly the same for every seller. Some later steps, such as delivery, only apply to businesses that sell physical products.

Before you start

It helps to have the following ready:

A working email address.
A phone number that you use often.
A valid National ID, passport, or driver’s licence.
Your business name.
The area and district where your business is based.
A short explanation of what your business sells or offers.
Your bank or mobile money details.
A business logo or clear business picture, if you have one.

You must be at least 18 years old to manage a seller account.

Do not worry when you do not have a logo or banner yet. You can create your account first and add them later.

The steps to start selling

1. Create your seller account

The first step is to create the account you will use to manage your business.

During registration, you will add:

Your full name.
Your email address.
Your phone number.
Your business name.
Your business area and district.
The main categories that describe your business.
A password for your account.

After creating the account, Tambala Market will send a message to your email address. Open the message and select Verify Email.

Your seller account is ready when you can sign in and open the Seller Dashboard.

2. Confirm your identity

Tambala Market needs to know who is managing each seller account.

You will enter the information shown on your ID and upload clear pictures of the document. You can use a National ID, passport, or driver’s licence.

Tambala Market will check the information and tell you when your identity has been confirmed or when something needs to be corrected.

You can continue setting up your business while the check is taking place.

3. Add your business details

Your business details help Tambala Market and your customers understand who you are and what you offer.

You will add or check:

Your business name.
A short description of the business.
Your main categories.
Your phone number.
Your email address.
Your area and district.
Your logo.
Your business registration details, when they apply to you.

Use information that is correct and easy for customers to understand.

For example:

Mwayi Farm Produce sells fresh vegetables, beans, groundnuts, and other farm products. We are based in Lilongwe and offer pickup and delivery for some orders.

4. Set up your store page

Your store page is the public page customers will see.

It should help people quickly understand:

What your business offers.
Where you are based.
What they can buy or book.
Why they can trust the business.

You can add:

A short tagline.
A store description.
A logo.
A wide banner picture.
Links to your social media pages.
A simple store link that you can share with customers.

Your store does not need to be fancy. It only needs to be clear, honest, and easy to understand.

5. Add your payment details

Tambala Market needs to know where to send your money after an order or booking is completed.

You may be asked to add:

A bank account.
A mobile money account.
The name of the person or business that owns the account.
Other payment details shown on the page.

Check the information carefully before saving it. A wrong account number or phone number may delay your payment.

6. Set up delivery or pickup

This step is mainly for sellers who sell physical products.

Choose how customers can receive their orders. The available choices may include:

Delivery by your business.
Pickup from your shop or business location.
Pickup from another agreed place.
Tambala Market Delivery, where available.
Another delivery company.

Add the correct price, area, and instructions for each option.

You can skip this step when you only sell event tickets or places to stay.

7. Add your first product, event, or stay

The next step is to add something that customers can buy or book.

Choose the guide that matches your business:

Add a Product (for example: phones, laptops, clothes, shoes, electronics, or beauty products).
Create an Event (for example: concerts, weddings, conferences, parties, or workshops).
Add a Stay (for example: hotels, lodges, guest houses, apartments, or short-term rentals).

Each listing should have clear and correct information, including:

A clear name.
Good pictures.
The correct price.
A simple description.
The right category.
Current stock or availability.
Any important rules or instructions.

Take time to check the listing before sending it.

8. Send your listing for approval

Tambala Market may check a listing before customers can see it.

Before sending it, make sure:

The name is correct.
The price is correct.
The pictures are clear.
The description is easy to understand.
The information is true.
The listing follows Tambala Market’s rules.

Tambala Market will tell you when the listing is approved or when something needs to be changed.

When changes are needed, read the message carefully, make the correction, and send the listing again.

9. Preview your store

Open your public store page and look at it as a customer.

Check that:

Your business name is correct.
Your logo is clear.
Your banner looks good.
Your description is easy to understand.
Your listings have clear pictures and prices.
Your social media links work.
The page looks good on a phone.

Most customers will visit Tambala Market using a phone, so always check the mobile view before sharing your store.

It also helps to ask another person to look at the page. Ask them whether they can quickly understand what the business offers and whether anything is confusing.

10. Share your store

After your first listing is approved, copy your store link and share it with customers.

You can share it through:

WhatsApp.
Facebook.
Instagram.
TikTok.
Email.
Your website.
Printed posters or business cards.

Share your main store link when you want customers to see everything you offer.

Share a listing link when you want them to see one product, event, or stay.

How to know your store is ready

Your business is ready to start selling when:

Your seller account has been created.
Your email address has been confirmed.
Your identity details have been sent.
Your business information is complete.
Your store page has been set up.
Your payment details have been added.
Your delivery or pickup options are ready, when needed.
Your first product, event, or stay has been added.
Your store looks good on a phone.
Customers can open your store link.

Some parts of the account may still be waiting for approval. Check your Seller Dashboard and email for any messages from Tambala Market.

You do not have to do everything alone

Someone else may help you take pictures, write descriptions, or manage orders. Do not give them your password.

Use Tambala Market’s teammate feature when you want another person to help manage the business. This gives them their own access and helps keep your main account safe.

Keep your information up to date

Return to your business settings when:

Your phone number changes.
Your email address changes.
Your business moves.
Your payment details change.
You start selling something new.
A team member leaves the business.
Your logo or business name changes.

Correct information makes it easier for customers, delivery people, and Tambala Market to reach you.
